What is an Beanie?

A Beanie is a small, stuffed animal, usually made of wool, felt or even cloth. It is typically given away at sporting events. Many collectors swear that they have no emotional attachment to their Beanie collection. Instead,  beanies  spend many hours studying the market and gaining knowledge of its complexities. They also know that their pursuit is a bit silly, and that some people might consider them insane.

Since 1997 in 1997, over 22 Major League Baseball teams have offered Beanie Babies during baseball games which has brought thousands of supporters to stadiums. Ty has collaborated with MLB to create special tags for Beanie Babies to commemorate players and other special occasions. These include Mac the Cardinal, Rocket the Blue Jay, as well as Sammy Bear. Bear. Each of them has their own prize day.

Vintage Beanie Babies are valuable, depending on the condition and rarity. Some collectors will offer as high as $50,000 for an original 1992 Ty Beanie. Others will spend more than $25,000 for a vintage 1996 Lefty the Donkey.
